| Designed
with a European sensibility, XS is furnished in warm
browns and gold. Tables with plush couches form
concentric circles around a small dance floor, and a
disco ball-inspired chandelier casts circles of
flickering light onto the dark floor. Textures are
everywhere – metallic snakeskin on the banquettes,
ultra suede on the couches – and large pillars covered
in mosaics of tiny mirrors reflect the space.

| The
Fantasy Tower at the Palms got its name for a good
reason. Moon nightclub, high atop the 53rd floor,
transports visitors into a fanciful space-age themed
club with Jetsons-like décor and shiny silver-uniformed
cocktail waitresses. The color-changing glass tile
floor, lasers and space imagery give the club a
futuristic vibe. Moon brings the outdoors inside on warm
nights when the roof retracts to offer a clear view of
the desert sky and (duh!) the moon. When the roof is
closed, the ceiling serves as a massive screen,
projecting images of exciting scenes from the club
below. |

| Chateau
d Yquem 1784 |
| Most
Expensive Wine
1784 Chateau
d’Yquem stands third when it
comes to price. It is a Premier Cru
Superieur wine from Sauternes region in the
southern part of the Bordeaux vineyards that
stands for generations. Fetching the highest
price of $56,588 and receiving rave reviews
worldwide for suppressing the world’s
finest wines, Chateau d’ Yquem has long
been one of the great wines of Sauternes
region.
In the Bordeaux wine official
classification of 1855, Chateau d’Yquem
was the only sauternes that won prestigious
rating, indicating its perceived superiority
and exorbitant prices over all other wines
of its grade. Meanwhile since 1959, Chateau
d’ Yquem is known to have produced a dry
white wine, called Ygrec, made from an equal
proportion of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.

Top 10
Most Expensive Wine in the World
#3 Chateau d Yquem
The wine, itself was acquired by Jacques
de Sauvage in 1953. It became the property
of the de Lur Saluces family in 1785 when
Josephine d Y’quem married Comte Louis
Amedee de Lur Saluces. Later in 1999, the
LVMH group acquired it. Finally, the present
management of the estate is known to be
under the control of Pierre Lurton,
President of Chateau since 2004.
Chateau’s wine making procedure is
tended with the greatest of care and
precision. Workers extend a tradition of
painstaking work. The great secret of
d’Yquem is that the grapes are first
picked carefully at the right moment, mainly
when their sugar content is best to produce
wine. Then they are subjected to
fermentation. When, fermentation stops
naturally at 13 degrees to 14 degrees of
alcohol, its only unconverted sugar leaves
behind. Thus, lavish syrupiness neutralized
with acidity really works as an additive.

Top 10 Most
Expensive Wines in the World
Top 10 Most Expensive Wines ever sold in the
World. Today’s upwardly mobile, trendy people
have insatiable thirst for wines. Craving for wines is
not new to the civilized world, with each passing day it
continues to get reinforced. Apart from drinking wines,
people love to collect them. Some are attracted by the
bottles, some by the brands, and yet some weigh upon the
wine’s origins.
In this article, you would come to know about the top
10 expensive wines ever sold. Most of these premium
wines have mind-boggling price tags and were sold at
auctions. These wines fetched unbelievable prices at
auctions because of the publicity that is attached to
each of the premium bottles. The other stimulus for
fetching high prices is the intense competition during
auction proceedings.
01. Chateau
Lafite 1787 : The bottle of wine
that fetched the highest ever price was Chateau Lafite,
1787. It fetched a price of $160,000 at Christie’s
London in 1985. The wine was bought for Forbes
collection. The specialty of the bottle is that it bears
Thomas Jefferson’s initials etched on the glass.
02. Chateau
Mouton Rothschild 1945 : Jeroboam
Chateau Mouton-Rothschild 1945 fetched the second
highest price ever. The wine was considered to be one
among the highly admired vintages of the 20th century.
It was sold for a whopping $114,614 at Christie’s
London in 1997.

1775 Sherry from the Massandra Collection, sold at
Sotheby’s London in 2001. It fetched a price of
$43,500. Massandra winery was highly admired in the

bottles (close to a million) of both Russian and Western
European wines. This Sherry was the oldest among the
Western European variety.

Mouton-Rothschild 1982. The sale was made at
Christie’s/Zachy’s New York in 1997 for an
astonishing price of $420,000 ($700 per bottle).
10. Screaming
Eagle Cab 1992 : Let us now come to
the tenth and the penultimate wine of the day. Though
this wine should have ranked first in terms of price,
its value was somehow overshadowed as it was auctioned
for charity. Imperial of Screaming Eagle Cab 1992 was
sold at the Napa Valley Wine Auction in 2000 for an
astronomical sum of $500,000. The wine as purchased by
Cisco Systems executive Chase Bailey. Though technically
it had fetched the highest ever price, but much of its
price has to be discounted as it was meant for
charitable purposes.
